duPont 2022 Virtual Ceremony FAQs

  • The virtual ceremony will take place on Tuesday, February 8 at 7:00pm EST.

    The ceremony is not open to the public and requires prior registration.

    The public can watch the ceremony that night at dupont.org/watch

  • OhYay is a design platform that allows users to create highly interactive and immersive virtual event spaces. Our 2022 duPont-Columbia Awards ceremony will be hosted on OhYay.

    You will be able to watch the ceremony live with your colleagues and loved ones, give live reactions to the ceremony, and send congratulations to the winners and finalists honored.

    After the ceremony, you’ll be directed to our virtual afterparty, where you can actually say your congratulations to the winners, mingle with friends, explore the Columbia Campus, and much more.

    • Visit ohyay.co/s/dupont2022 and do a test check in advance to confirm that your camera and microphone are working.

    • Use the same email address you registered with, otherwise you’ll have limited access to the space. You are currently receiving this email from the email address you provided.

    • Use Chrome, Edge, or Brave on a laptop or desktop computer. Do NOT use a phone or other mobile device.

    • If using a laptop, connect to a power source rather than battery.

    • Headphones are highly recommended.

  • Yes! If you are a member of a finalist team and would like to invite additional guests to the virtual ceremony, please email dupontawards@columbia.edu with their names, email addresses, and affiliations to you or the finalist work.

    If you would like to invite additional guests, please email us by Friday, February 4.

  • Business attire.

  • Members of the finalist teams, their guests, past winners, affiliates of the Columbia Journalism School, and other members of the journalism community.

    Through the OhYay platform, guests will be able to search for their friends before and after the ceremony via the menu.

  • Your camera and microphone will be turned off during the ceremony. Once the ceremony is over, you may choose to turn on your camera and microphone for the afterparty.

  • In the same email you received the link for this FAQ page, you will find the OhYay event link. The subject line of the email is “[duPont Awards] RSVP Confirmation and Ceremony Details”. As a reminder, do not forward the link.
